Megan Olivi has become one of the most well-known faces in the UFC but she wanted to do something else while growing up
UFC presenter and host, Megan Olivi, was the latest guest on Renee Paquette’s Oral Sessions podcast.
Olivi is married to UFC star Joseph Benavidez and spoke about how the pair met up in Mandalay Bay.
However, Olivi wasn’t always looking to get into a career in broadcasting and journalism. She came from a family of wrestlers and her brother was a top star for the United States. He was a junior Olympian but injuries got the better of him and was unable to further his career.
Olivi also wrestled a bit when she was young but gave it all up. However, she did want to do something else but her family’s financial condition stopped that from happening:
“I played softball, I played centre-base and centre-field and I was a gymnast and that was like my passion.
“But we, I grew up with not a lot of money and I was the youngest, so there were other things our money had to go to. I was pretty good.”
Olivi claimed that she still tries some moves and tries to live the dream while Paquette brought out another shared interested between the pair as she was keen on gymnastics as a youngster too.
The former WWE star also asked about what other plans that Olivi had and brought up that she wanted to be the Mayor of Las Vegas.
The UFC presenter claimed that it was on her bucket list and she was keen on making changes to the community. She did speak about some of the problems in Vegas but didn’t want to disrespect the city too much.
Olivi also wanted to be a political campaign manager while she was in college but a life in presenting and sports was waiting for her.
The UFC presenter did want to do more for the promotion. She is known for some incredible stories on the stars while they perform walkouts but Olivi wanted to do such stories for every star.
She claimed that everyone has some great story to tell, and it will be interesting to see if the UFC takes that up in 2021.
