Renee Paquette has brought some big names on her podcast, Oral Sessions, and it was UFC host and reporter Megan Olivi that featured on the latest episode.

Paquette and Olivi shared they had a ton of similarities regarding their career paths, dating fighters and also having the same haircut.

They also spoke about having a dog with the same name, and there was one big question that Paquette asked Olivi.

She wanted to know how she got to meet Benavidez and the UFC presenter was more than happy to share the details:

“I met Joe in the lobby of Mandalay Bay in 2009. I was with my two best friends, who are best friends to this day, we just graduated from college.

“Came out to Vegas, we were actually helping one of my bosses at Fox with stuff. We came out, I met Joe in the lobby, he was with some other fighters.

“We were cute girls, they were cute dudes, and they were like ‘Hey, you want to come to Tryst?’”

Olivi and Benavidez spoke to each other the entire night and also brought up the popular comedian/actor Will Ferrell.

“I talked to Joe the whole night. We actually fell in love by quoting Will Ferrell. The best of Will Ferrell DVD.

“He said something to me from the DVD and I was like ‘Oh my God, I am in love’. We quoted back and forth and Joe was sober and he wasn’t drinking while I was 22 and having fun.”

Olivi added that the pair ate burgers later in the night and Benavidez asked for her email as it was 2009.

Things slowly grew between them and they started talking more via Skype and on the phone. The pair were also living in different cities but that didn’t stop them from continuing their relationship.

Benavidez and Olivi have shared a lot of stories about their relationship, and she was there to console him when he missed another chance to win the UFC Flyweight title.
