38-year old Alan Jouban announced his retirement from MMA earlier today

Alan Michael Jouban, who most recently competed in the UFC has bowed out from the sport of mixed martial arts. The American last fought Jared Gooden at UFC 255, which he won via. unanimous decision.

Quite a way to bow out, as Jouban can be seen holding on to a guillotine choke on Gooden in the last few seconds of his final fight.

His career was quite impressive as well. With 17 wins and 7 losses, Jouban would have had more wins, had he taken up the sport earlier. He began training in Muay Thai only when he was 23 years old.

Jouban joined the UFC in 2014, making his debut against Seth Baczynski. He knocked Baczynski out in the very first round, capping off an impressive debut.

He went on to win 7 more fights, finishing with a record of 8 wins and 5 losses in the UFC. His best phase was during 2016, when he won all three of his fights, including wins over Belal Muhammad and Mike Perry.

Several UFC stars including former middleweight champion Michael Bisping congratulated Jouban on his retirement.

Alan Jouban reacts to Kayla Harrison’s impressive PFL victory

Kayla Harrison has been on a roll ever since making her MMA debut. She took up the sport in 2018, after dominating in Judo, winning gold at both 2012 and 2016 Olympics.

She recently destroyed Mariana Morais at PFL 3 (2021), thereby winning her 9th straight fight.

She has begun catching a lot of people’s eyes now, after a ton of dominating performances. Alan Jouban was left flabbergasted after Harrison’s recent victory, as he tweeted, “Lawwwwd!!! Kayla Harrison ain’t playing!”

There have been a lot of talks about Harrison making a possible switch to the UFC in the future.
