Jake Paul has accepted a fight against a bigger Hasim Rahman Jr, after the Tommy Fury fight fell apart yet again – Michael Bisping reacts
Amongst the many criticisms that Youtuber turned boxer Jake Paul faces was allegations that he cherry-picks opponents to build up his career. Tommy Fury has the pedigree of boxing in his family history, and the sport runs in his veins. This prompted fans that he will probably be Paul’s biggest test so far. But despite many attempts by the Paul and Fury camp to bring this fight together, the fight has gone back to rack and ruin, leaving the American opponent less. Little did combat fans know that when Jake Paul said ‘Anyone, Any place, Any time’, he actually meant it.
Pullulating ringster Jake Paul will face his toughest test to date when he collides with ‘tough as knuckles’ Hasim Rahman Jr. atop the Showtime boxing pay-per-view (PPV) card scheduled for Sat., Aug. 6, 2022 inside Madison Square Garden in New York City.
“I’ve wanted this fight ever since Hasim ran his big mouth to me two years ago in the gym,” Paul wrote on Twitter. “My brother and manager didn’t want me to take this fight. They said it was too much risk. The New York State Athletic Commission didn’t want to approve this fight because they said Hasim has too much experience for me. He has over 100 amateur fights, ten times more than Tommy… but I’m built different. I’m psychotic. CHAOTIC. PROBLEMATIC.”
As for Hasim, he is 12-1 as a pro and coming off a fifth-round technical knockout loss to James McKenzie Morrison last April in Las Vegas.
Jake Paul and former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping have been in discordance for the longest time now, even engaging in Twitter tirades in the past. Paul had once blasted Bisping in a profanity-laced interview. However, the Brit has developed a newfound respect for the ‘Problem Child’ ever since the news of his upcoming fight broke the internet.
He wrote on Twitter, ‘Credit where credit’s due. Jake Paul finally fighting a proper opponent.’
‘Send the release’- Nate Diaz and Jake Paul respond to Dana White suggesting the pair should fight each other
The younger Diaz brother was among the first wave of fighters that set motion the fighter pay dispute. He has been vocal about his contract with the UFC, and along with his brother Nick, became the first of a very elite group of fighters to negotiate PPV points into their contract without a belt.
It’s being rumored that the UFC is stalling Diaz’s move by offering him difficult fights, while he has been throwing names at the UFC top brass for his last fight.
Nate posted a tweet by saying, ‘Ufc release now please or give me fight with anyone in July or august
I have bigger shit to do’
Ahead of UFC’s blockbuster UFC 276 event, Dana White has been speaking to the media as part of promotional activities. White spoke to Oscar Willis from The Mac Life, voicing his opinion on the whole incident.
White was surprisingly agog and all ears about the idea. He said,
“So listen, we’re trying to do the best we can. We’re trying not to s*** on anybody and disrespect anybody, but it’s not like we’re talking about Kamaru Usman here. We’re talking about Nate Diaz. Nate’s won one fight in five years, so we’re trying to figure this thing out with him. He probably should go on and fight Jake Paul. That’s a fight that makes sense.”
UFC superstar Nate Diaz and Jake Paul immediately took to Twitter, after receiving the green signal. While Nate was satisfied and full of energy, Paul had an interesting proposal for the UFC.
The Youtuber turned boxer has made it his life mission to improve fighter pay inside the UFC, and has been at loggerheads with the top brass. He had even suggested a one-fight contract in the past that included a moreish bet. Jake Paul has been on a relentless tirade against the UFC and Dana White for fighter’s welfare and better pay. He has made it his mission to speak for the fighters, and many fighters including UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou have openly supported ‘The Problem Child’s’ efforts.
Dana White was also handed a golden opportunity by Paul in the past, which involves a bet. And should the Youtuber turned boxer fail, White and the UFC can be assured that it will be the last they hear of him. ‘
Paul suggested that he wishes to be the last fight of Nate Diaz’s UFC contract. He stated the only conditions he wants in the contract, which is better fighter pay and healthcare.
He wrote, ‘Dana – I’m happy to be Nate’s last fight in UFC. You know the terms: pay fighters more and give them healthcare.
Sweetener: I will fight for free.‘
