UFC Hall of Famer Michael Bisping and YouTuber Jake Paul feud occasionally on social media
There is not one fighter in the MMA universe that Jake Paul hasn’t feuded against. The YouTuber-turned-boxer never fails to live up to the billing – ‘The Problem Child’.
From disrespectful public callouts to stealing Floyd Mayweather’s hat, it is tough to keep him off the news.
Former UFC middleweight champion and UFC Hall of Famer, Michael Bisping divulged in an interview with the Schmo that he was offered a significant amount of money by the YouTuber to fight him.
‘The Count’ however did say that the offer wasn’t legit and Paul was just using him for the sake of promoting himself.
Here is what the former middleweight champ had to say:
“They made me an offer- some money to fight him. And I wasn’t really interested. But I said, ‘Double that’, to my manager, when my manager went back with double. I said, ‘Let’s see what he says with that. Let’s see if he is really serious.’ So, he did send me an offer…I know what he did, he was just using me, he had no intentions of ever fighting me.”
Online rivalries aside, Bisping heaped praises on Paul for risking it all and taking to boxing seriously. ‘The Count’ believed Paul clearly “had a passion for combat sports.”
Addressing the Schmo, Bisping said:
“God bless him. Good for him. Jake Paul is getting a lot of hate. But, the guy had a big, big YouTube following, and he’s parlayed that into his combat sports career. The guy clearly has a passion for boxing and combat, so good for him.”
Paul is right now neck-deep in his rivalry with boxer Tommy Fury. Talks of the two facing off soon have been rife. The weight class wouldn’t be a problem as well, as both the fighters are more or less of the same height and weight.
