Michael Chandler will be making his UFC debut against Dan Hooker
Former Bellator champion Michael Chandler has a huge fight for his UFC debut as he takes on Dan Hooker.
The fight was confirmed to The Schmo from Dana White and the date was also provided. The pair will meet up at UFC 257 at Fight Island and it should be a cracking match.
Chandler comes in with a lot of hype and has spoken about wanting to fight for the main title. The Lightweight star served as the backup to Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Justin Gaethje.
While he didn’t get to fight then at Fight Island, Chandler did learn a lot about the UFC and it will be interesting to see how his debut goes.
The American posted a simple message on his Instagram account after the fight was confirmed and he seems ready for his debut.
While Chandler hasn’t fought since leaving Bellator, he still has an impressive record of 21 wins and five losses.
Chandler also is a three-time former Champion from Bellator but Hooker won’t be an easy task. The Kiwi has a record of 20 wins and nine losses and lost his last fight to Dustin Poirier.
However, Hooker should be a quality first opponent for Chandler and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top in all this.
Chandler is coming in with a lot of hype and has spoken about challenging for the gold. However, Hooker knows this is a chance for him to put his mark on the division again after losing to Poirier.
The Hangman is also a tough opponent and will provide a great test for Chandler.
The UFC has come up with some huge matches for 2021 and this one certainly is going to be a great one.
