Michael Chandler, the UFC newcomer might fight the ‘Highlight’ Justin Gaethje next
Michael Chandler is 1-1 in the UFC. The Bellator legend made his UFC debut earlier this year at UFC 257, and knocked out Dan Hooker in the very first round.
Chandler then faced Charles Oliveira for the lightweight title at UFC 262. In a fight that could have gone either way, ‘Iron Mike’ succumbed to a second-round TKO loss to ‘The Brazilian.’
Following his loss, Chandler began calling out number 2 ranked lightweight contender Justin Gaethje, who has been out of action for almost 9 months.
‘Iron Mike’ recently accused Gaethje of ducking him, despite him calling out ‘The Highlight’ multiple times.
Gaethje, hit back Chandler a few hours ago. He refuted the former Bellator champion’s claims and ripped into him for ‘slandering his name.’
He tweeted:
“@MikeChandlerMMA is talking out of his ass. I was waiting for the bout agreement 3 weeks into camp and wake up to news his daddy Dana gave him the shot. He’s been out of commission since the KO. What am I missing? I’m on vacay and this fucker is slandering my name. 3-4 times?”
Ali Abdelaziz hit back at Michael Chandler as well
Before Gaethje could reply, his manager Ali Abdelaziz was quick to lash into Chandler. The Dominance MMA CEO posted a video of Chandler getting beat up by Oliveira at UFC 262, while also asking him to ‘calm down.’
Here is what Abdelaziz tweeted:
“Sit your ass down you’re going to get knocked out again fake humble I have three guys back to back you will get finish fake respect.”
Going by the look of things, Michael Chandler vs Justin Gaethje might be the next big fight to make in the lightweight division.
