Conor McGregor had trouble with checking leg kicks in his last fight
It is no hiding that Conor McGregor was bested at UFC 257 by Dustin Poirier. Part of Poirier’s tactics was his brutal leg kicks.
‘The Diamond’ consistently went after McGregor’s calves. The toll was visible as McGregor looked jaded in the second round.
It was the reason why ‘The Notorious One’ could not hold his ground when Poirier connected with a punch in round 2. His legs gave in and he had to leave the arena with his legs in a cast.
And after some free advice from MMA legend Bas Rutten, he may have help from someone in his own division in the UFC!
UFC lightweight contender Michael Chandler made quite an impression with a debut win against Dan Hooker.
And he is now apparently on the lookout for strengthening one of his rivals in the division. Earlier today, Chandler tweeted “Checking leg kicks is easy. @thenotoriousmma I have a few tips for you. Holler at me.”
Chandler is a newcomer in the promotion and seems to be open to having cordial relations with his fellow rivals. Last month, he had something hilarious to share that involved Poirier.
And now, it seems like he is actually open to helping McGregor. The Irishman would probably not have a shortage of finances to hire some of the best in the game.
But he does need to focus on that aspect; and fast. A summer trilogy fight with Dustin Poirier is all done pending an official announcement.
If he wants to come out victorious, he would have to work on his biggest weakness in their last fight. And if it means taking help from a rival, then so be it.
