Cain Velasquez recently is in the news for shooting at Harry Goularte
MMA star Michael Chiesa weighed in on the Cain Velasquez case and had a unique solution to it all.
Recently, the former UFC champion was arrested on charges of attempted murder. Reports suggested that Velasquez shot at a man who was charged with molesting a close relative of the UFC star’s.
Velasquez’s shots injured the accused molester’s stepfather, and the UFC star is being held in Santa Clara County Main Jail without bail.
Many from the MMA world have come out in support of Velasquez after learning of the details of the case.
While details are still sketchy over what happens next with Velasquez, Chiesa had a solution to deal with it.
The UFC star claimed that if Velasquez would not be released from jail, he should share the cell with Harry Goularte, the man who allegedly molested the former UFC champ’s relative.
The “Free Cain” hashtag has also been gaining momentum on social media and even Dana White shared his thoughts on the case recently.
Cain Velasquez’s ups and downs in recent years
The 39-year-old is a two-time UFC champion and many consider him to be one of the best heavyweights ever to have graced the sport.
Velasquez left the UFC in 2019 and finished his MMA career with a 14-3 record. His last fight was a loss to current UFC Heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
However, the 39-year-old tried his hand in the world of professional wrestling. He was part of Lucha Libre AAA in 2019 and then even fought Brock Lesnar at Crown Jewel after he signed for WWE.
Unfortunately, Velasquez was in April 2020 due to budgets cuts stemming from COVID-19.
