Michael Chiesa gives his Israel Adesanya vs Jan Blachowicz title fight prediction for UFC 259
The light heavyweight title which sees Israel Adesanya take on defending champion Jan Blachowicz got a date recently.
The title bout, which will be Blachowicz’s first defence of his belt, is scheduled for March 6th, 2021, at UFC 259. Adesanya is the current middleweight champion and is taking the step up to fight the bigger, more physical Blachowicz.
However, many people are finding it tough to call a winner in this fight. Chael Sonnen tried it a few weeks back but was also caught in two minds.
Israel Adesanya is unstoppable ever since he began his MMA career in March 2012. The Nigerian is yet to lose a fight in his career and has a professional record of 20-0-0.
Blachowicz, on the other hand, is a heavy hitter who is on a four-fight winning streak. He has beaten the likes of Luke Rockhold, Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza, and most recently, Dominick Reyes, during that time.
And now, UFC welterweight fighter Michael Chiesa has had his say on the fight.
Speaking on The Shmo on YouTube, Chiesa answered that Israel Adesanya will win in the title fight against Blachowicz at UFC 259.
His reasoning is simple; he says that speed is what will matter in this fight.
“I think speed kills in that fight. Israel is very precise. I think Jan will have a tough time tracking him down.”
Chiesa does acknowledge the power that the Pole possesses. However, he thinks that it is The Last Stylebender’s time.
“But he has got a lot of power. You know, he has got big knockout power in his hands. I just think it’s Israel Adesanya’s time. I think there is something special about this man, and I think he is going to have a good showing.”
