UFC Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov wants to face Georges St-Pierre in his 30th MMA fight
Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the greatest MMA athletes of all-time and he wants to add to his legacy by defeating Georges St-Pierre.
Khabib is undefeated in his MMA career and has a 28-0 record. The Russian wants to face GSP in his 30th MMA fight and there have been suggestions that the Canadian is open to the clash.
The UFC is yet to confirm the fight and it would be big news in the MMA circuit. GSP is a former Welterweight and Middleweight champion but retired 2017.
Many consider him to be the greatest MMA star of all-time and this clash would be one of the dream battles.
Predictions for this huge clash have been coming in for a while and UFC star Michael Johnson was the latest to share his expectations.
Johnson has been training to get back into shape for a future fight but believed experience would play a key role in this battle:
“I don’t know. It is tough to take the knowledge and how GSP fights and how smart he is.
“He is very talented and one of the best ever to do it, so I will lean towards him in the fight.”
The 34-year-old fights in the Lightweight division where Khabib is the champion. This is one of the most stacked divisions in the UFC and another huge star was signed by the promotion recently.
Michael Chandler is a former Bellator champion and great things are expected from him. Johnson too backed his teammate and backed him to be a star:
“Chandler will do great. He has been a teammate of mine for the last few years, we wrestled each other at high school.
“It’s really good to see his success and see him coming to the UFC and challenge to be one of the best in the world.
“I’m looking forward to it.”
The Schmo asked if Chandler was ready for a title shot, and Johnson claimed the ex-Bellator man was set for that.
