Colby Covington defeated Tyron Woodley in excellent fashion but seems to have several stars calling him for the next fight

Colby Covington put on a great display in his fight against Tyron Woodley. The former Interim UFC Welterweight Champion got the win via TKO but he dominated Woodley for all four rounds too.

This was supposed to be a close fight as Woodley is a former champion too, but Covington dominated his rival.

While Covington got an impressive win, a UFC star has already called him out. Covington has a reputation of being the villain of the UFC and he is very close to the US President, Donald Trump.

He trash talks a lot, something he didn’t as much before fighting Woodley. However, there are a lot of people who don’t like him and Michel Pereira seems to be one of them.

The Brazilian called out Covington for a fight and believed he couldn’t last five rounds in the Octagon too:

“I want to fight you, you are a very bad guy, you would never be able to fight 5 rounds with me, I am reaching the biggest of my category, and I will show my potential, what can I be the champion of that category, wait for me”

One fight closer to title shot

While Covington called out Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal after the win, his aim is to reach the top. Donald Trump called Covington after the fight and congratulated him. The President also wanted Covington to go for the title but Pereira wants a piece of the American.

It will be interesting to see if this fight is set up by the UFC. Covington made short work of Woodley but this was his first fight since losing to Usman.

Woodley too had been on a slide and this was his third fight in a row where he was dominated.

Pereira, for his part, is 24-11 in his MMA career. He last defeated Zelim Imadaev a couple of weeks back and that was the performance of the night.

The 26-year-old still has a lot of quality years left in him, but Covington could be closer to a title shot if he gets another win under him.
