Conor McGregor is set to return to boxing by facing Manny Pacquiao next

UFC legend Conor McGregor seems set to return after confirming a fight against Manny Pacquiao.

The Irishman last fought at UFC 246 where he defeated Donald Cerrone in 40 seconds. This was McGregor’s first fight since losing the UFC Lightweight title clash against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

However, McGregor shocked the world by claiming he was retired just a few months after that. This statement had been shared by McGregor several times in the past, and not many were biting it.

While McGregor will not get a UFC fight next, despite call-outs by several stars, he is getting back to boxing.

Pacquiao last defeated Keith Thurman in 2019

McGregor will be fighting one of the best in Pacquiao, who is a multiple-time champion. However, his last fight in the ring was against another great in Floyd Mayweather Jr. The Irishman didn’t get the win but he did get a huge sum from that and could earn millions from this fight too.

McGregor is a huge draw as it is but the Irishman could have another boxing match on his hands.

Irish boxing match

Mike Perry is one of the most entertaining characters in the UFC, even if he has had a lot of run-ins with the law.

The American has called out McGregor for an Irish boxing fight but only after he was done with Robbie Lawler.

Platinum Perry also compared his boxing record to that of McGregor’s and added that they both had lost their only fights in the ring.

Perry did talk the talk but it is unlikely McGregor will accept this as a boxing match given than he will make millions from his next boxing match.

The Irishman does need to work hard to get the better of Pacquiao. The Filipino is one of the legends in boxing, and he will make things difficult for the Notorious One.
