Mike Perry named Holly Holm as the only UFC star who could defeat Amanda Nunes
UFC star Mike Perry named former women’s Bantamweight champion Holly Holm as the only person who could defeat Amanda Nunes.
Holm was headlining the main event alongside Irene Aldana in the latest Fight Night event at Fight Island.
The 38-year-old is considered as one of the greatest female boxers of all time and is the only woman to hold a boxing title and a UFC title at the same time.
Holm dominated Aldana from the first second and picked up a unanimous decision win at the event. The American is 14-5 in her MMA career and Perry believed she had all the skills to defeat Nunes.
While Holm does have the skills to take down almost everyone in the UFC, she did hand Ronda Rousey her first loss, defeating Nunes is another story.
The Brazilian is regarded as one of the greatest MMA stars of all-time and holds two titles too.
Further, Holm got a chance at Nunes in the Bantamweight division in 2019 but was knocked out by the Brazilian.
Nunes is expected to defend her title against Megan Anderson at UFC 256 but this would be for the featherweight title. The 32-year-old last lost a fight in 2014 and that was against Cat Zingano.
She is 20-4 in her MMA career and has defeated big names such as Valentina Shevchenko, Rousey, Miesha Tate, Cris Cyborg and Germaine de Randamie.
Holm certainly turned the clock back with her dominating performance, and it will be interesting to see what is next for her.
She could go up against De Randamie for another crack at the Bantamweight title. However, the winner of that fight might end up facing Nunes.
