MMA fans left in splits as Chael Sonnen blasts Wayne Rooney celebrating son’s Manchester United deal

Kai, the son of Wayne Rooney, signed for Manchester United but Chael Sonnen wasn’t pleased with this

It is safe to assume that Chael Sonnen enjoys his time as an MMA pundit and commentator. The UFC legend is one of the best to have ever graced the Octagon and he isn’t afraid of sharing his thoughts.

He has often called out rising stars or given them platforms to show off their talent too. However, there was a bizarre confrontation on social media recently.

Wayne Rooney, a legendary English footballer, was celebrating his son, Kai, signing for Manchester United.

Rooney, who spent 13 years at Manchester United, holds several records for club and country. He has won several titles too during his playing days and is now a player-manager for Derby County.

However, he still has links with United and posted an update. His son, Kai, had signed for the Red Devils and that was an incredible moment for all United fans.

However, Sonnen, for some reason, was upset why “jobber” Rooney came up on his timeline.

Sonnen is greater than Rooney?

There doesn’t seem to be any history of issues between Rooney and Sonnen. Rooney had appeared on a few WWE shows and had an altercation with Wade Barrett.

He did have a snap with Conor McGregor, another UFC legend, previously but that is the closest he came in contact with the world of MMA.

This post from Sonnen, however, got a lot of people talking. Sonnen is one of the greatest MMA stars of all-time but he never won the UFC title.

Many fans brought this out, especially the ones supporting Rooney, while some backed Sonnen and claimed he was better than the ex-Manchester United star.

There were some hilarious responses to this tweet from Sonnen too, and here are some of them.
