Kayla Harrison considered to be one of the best female MMA athletes earned a stunning win over Genah Fabian
Kayla Harrison earned a crucial win over New Zealander Genah Fabian at PFL 8 – PFL Playoff’s women’s lightweight semi-finals.
The two-time Olympic Gold Medalist defeated the lanky Fabian in the very first round via. TKO to move to the finals of the $1 million prize money tournament. It was no surprise as Harrison was the clear favourite heading into the fight.
With that win, Harrison also brought her 11th consecutive win in her MMA career. She has one more fight left in her PFL career, and the MMA world will be on its feet when she becomes a free agent.
One more title defense, Harrison will undoubtedly become the greatest PFL fighter of all time.
She will be taking on Taylor Guardado in the finals. Larissa Pachecho was set to be her opponent initially but she missed weight.
Kayla Harrison calls out Israel Adesanya
At the post-fight interview, Harrison called out Israel Adesanya. The reason for the same was, her opponent Fabian trains at City Kickboxing in Auckland, New Zealand, where Adesanya and others train.
There were talks that Fabian might give Harrison a run for her money. Nothing of that sort happened as Harrison emerged victorious with ease.
Harrison was quoted as saying:
“Scientists, you kept talking about scientists, all the scientists at City Kickboxing, Izzy [Israel Adesanya] couldn’t stop my takedowns!”
