Molly McCann Vows to Silence Haters as She Announces Major Move After Crushing Defeat

In a shocking turn of events, renowned UFC fighter Molly McCann, popularly known as ‘Meatball,’ has publicly lashed out at online critics, referring to them as ‘keyboard warriors,’ after suffering a devastating first-round submission loss to Julija Stoliarenko at UFC London.

The defeat marked the second consecutive submission setback for McCann, who had previously fallen victim to Erin Blanchfield’s kimura at UFC 281 in November.

Taking to her Instagram account to address the defeat, the former flyweight contender expressed her determination to overcome adversity, just as she had done in the past. McCann, who currently holds a 6-6 record in the UFC’s 125lb division, revealed that she has made a pivotal decision to drop down to strawweight (115lb) for her future fights.

McCann believes that moving down a weight class will provide her with a significant advantage, as she will be facing opponents who are closer in size to her. The Liverpudlian fighter acknowledged the challenge of competing against bigger opponents and is eager to take on new rivals in her new weight division.

Her UFC journey has been nothing short of tumultuous, with a series of ups and downs in the flyweight division. Despite missing weight and suffering a second-round loss in her company debut, McCann showcased her resilience with three consecutive victories over Priscila Cachoeira, Ariane Lipski, and Diana Belbita. Unfortunately, her momentum was halted by consecutive defeats to Talia Santos and Lara Procopio.

The tenacious fighter once again found herself in a similar situation, enjoying a triumphant three-fight winning streak against Kim Ji-Yeon, Luana Carolina, and Hannah Goldy, only to be derailed by successive losses to Blanchfield and Stoliarenko.

Molly McCann teases move to new weight class and vows to silence haters

As ‘Meatball’ Molly McCann makes this bold move to compete in a lower-weight division, fans around the world eagerly await her return to the octagon, where she is sure to bring her indomitable spirit and ferocious fighting style. The stage is set for an epic resurgence, and McCann is poised to silence her critics and emerge stronger than ever before.

She took to Instagram to write:

“We have one more adjustment to make and I believe that will make all the difference in the world, the smallest in the division makes it tough when the opponents are so much bigger. So for me it’s time to drop down and face the girls who are the same size!”

“To all the keyboard warriors who’ll give me down the banks and want to tell me about my self go ahead, I’m living my dream EVERY SINGLE DAY, I’m winning in life, the best teams around me, the best promotion in the world. This game has give me everything, and I am beyond blessed.”
