Unbeaten UFC prodigy Muhammad Mokaev has finally landed an opponent in the name of former LFA champion Charles Johnson
MMA Fighting earlier confirmed the news that undefeated UFC prospect Muhammad Mokaev will fight former LFA champion Charles Johnson at a UFC event on 23rd July. Mokaev is tipped to be the hottest new prospect on the UFC roster, and impressed everyone with his display at UFC London.
Mokaev dazzled the MMA community with his exhilarating display at UFC London when he submitted Cody Durden in the very first minute of the fight. Much like any other undefeated fighter with exceptional wrestling credentials, Mokaev was having trouble finding an opponent ever since his last fight.
He has finally landed an opponent in Charles Johnson who is on a five-fight winning streak that includes the LFA flyweight title. Most recently he stopped Carlos Mota in the fifth round to improve his record to 11-2, which landed him the enticing UFC contract.
Mokaev reacted to the news on Twitter by addressing how fighters were scared to face him and said,
‘Finally someone stepped up, crazy how many people in this game are scared but respect to this opponent for saying yes. I will smash him and then the guys in the rankings cant run anymore @ufc
Thanks to my management @ParadigmSports and UFC matchmaker @Mickmaynard2′
‘I’ll finish you in round one’ – Muhammad Mokaev calls for a fight against Sean O’Malley
6-time British wrestling champion & European BJJ champion is one of those fighters that can work from the bottom, be competent on the feet, and be dominant on top. He had targeted a fight against superstar Sean O’Malley for 2nd July UFC 276 during the organization’s International Fight Week in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Even though Mokaev fights at flyweight, he is willing to come up to bantamweight to challenge himself against O’Malley.
He posted out a tweet by saying, “Are you available July 2nd in Vegas? @SugaSeanMMA I’ll finish you in round one, I don’t care what weight, I’ll come to your division UK VS USA round 2 but this time in USA”
