MMA fans react to Conor McGregor flashing his UFC belt at a club in Abu Dhabi
Conor McGregor is officially bringing his Dublin pub on tour to this weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Black Forge Inn is making an appearance at the Formula One racing event in what has been described as a “world first.” There are VIP table bookings available for any attending F1 fans, with the Crumlin venue opening from Thursday to Sunday.
The popular pub has hosted many famous guests, including its celebrity owner, who spent seven figures renovating the spot in his hometown of Crumlin. He is expanding his location strength from Howth and Drimnagh.
MMA fans haven’t seen Conor McGregor in action in over a year. The Irishman’s most recent octagon appearance came in July 2021, when he faced Dustin Poirier at UFC264. In that fight, ‘The Notorious’ suffered a horrific leg injury and lost by TKO via doctor stoppage.
Since then, the Irishman has been focused on healing from his injury and returning to the octagon as soon as possible. The Irishman recently posted a photo of himself and Poirier from their third fight. McGregor expressed his joy at returning to action in the caption.
However, videos of him flashing his belt and parading has got MMA fans worried about his return.
Fight fans were quick to react under the post made by FullCombat, which shows a rather unrecognizable McGregor sporting the belt like its brand new.
One fan wrote:
“My boy is on a full retirement promo run without retiring and flashing old belts from 5+ years ago come on bro I’d hate to break it to ya but you’re 15 minutes of Fame is Up lol start making some fightings moves or just sit down 💪🏽🤷🏽♂️🤣🤣🤣”
Some other fan wrote:
“Bruhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Man really parading with his 2016 belt. I mean he’s taking the “once a champ always a champ” thing too far.”
One fan was worried with everything he saw in the video:
“Everything wrong in one photo. The old belt, His size, No beard, The yellow shirt, him looking like he is full of booze and the rest again. I doubt he would even beat the old guys if he does come back. An advert for not hwta to do if you become super rich.”
Yet some other fan wrote:
“”Middle age man living the past legacy Good for him, he’s earned millions but gained fat and age as a replacement. He really needs that beard back again, my neighbor John (middle aged with 3 kids) looks exactly like him lol”
