Nate Diaz has called out the UFC for stalling his fight against Dustin Poirier, and suggests that he might be considering retirement post that
Nate Diaz has made it clear that the only fight he wants at this stage in his career is a fight against Dustin Poirier. The Louisiana based former lightweight contender, Poirier has been vocal about the charm in the idea of this fight for quite some time now.
The younger Diaz brother has emerged to be one of the biggest superstars in the game right now. Even though he has lost two of his previous fights, his stocks remain high to this day, and the UFC is cognizant of that. The UFC has recently offered lucrative contracts to Israel Adesanya and Jorge Masvidal, and are possibly working on something similar for Diaz.
But the Stockton slugger has his sights set on a move away from the sport, with a feasible jump to boxing. He posted a picture on Instagram with the caption,
“I’m ready to fight my last fight @ufc @danawhite this guys says he’s ready also so lets get this shit poppin
I got shit to do ✈️”
As for Diaz, a fight against either one of the Paul brothers seems like a viable option.
Dana White spoke to the media during the UFC 272 post-fight press conference, and one question that popped up was the situation surrounding MMA superstar Nate Diaz’s contract.
Considering the latest trend the company has plunged into, by keeping their star athletes content with bankable deals- a similar bargain for the younger Diaz brother looks serviceable.
White even touched upon this idea and said that it’s very much likely, when asked about it by The Schmo.
But Nate Diaz’s latest Instagram post has dismissed the idea entirely, and he is rock-ribbed that he wants a move away from the sport. He even suggested that the UFC is hindering his move, and wants to fight out his contract as soon as possible.
