Nate Diaz was allegedly not happy with Canelo Alvarez trying to steal the thunder on the day of a UFC mega-event
Canelo Alvarez took on Caleb Plant at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the same time the UFC 268 main card was in full swing.
Alvarez delivered a killer knockout blow in the eleventh round to become the undisputed super-middleweight champion.
As is customary, Alvarez got off to a slow start, and began piecing up Plant after the third round.
As the rounds progressed, Alvarez’s vigour and valour rose rapidly; couple with precision and speed, the Mexican unleashed an altogether different gravy on Plant.
Elsewhere, at the Madison Square Garden, the UFC hosted one of their biggest events of the year.
UFC 268, headlined by a welterweight title fight between Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington, was a big hit.
The Alvarez fight took place during Frankie Edgar vs Chito Vera and Rose Namajunas vs Weili Zhang.
And, ‘West Coast Gangster’ Nate Diaz wasn’t happy with Alvarez not waiting for the UFC guys to fight first.
Taking to Twitter he brought up his own fight against Jorge Masvidal in 2019, which took place at the Madison Square Garden.
That very same night, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena Alvarez was made to wait before entering the ring so that fans could watch the Diaz-Masvidal showdown.
Taking to Twitter, Diaz wrote:
“Bruh why canelo ain’t waiting for these ufc guys to fight first… “
UFC President Dana White admits to watching Canelo Alvarez vs Canelo Plant during UFC 268
Canelo Alvarez is a show-stealer, and not even UFC boss Dana White could resist the same.
During UFC 268, White was caught watching Alvarez vs Plant on a monitor while sitting ringside.
