Nate Diaz earned a whopping 1.2 million salary for his UFC 263 fight against Leon Edwards
Nate Diaz ended up on the losing side against Leon Edwards at UFC 263. However, the ‘West Coast Gangster’ made sure that he entertained his fans, with an unbelievable final minute performance, almost knocking out Edwards.
Known for being a massive fan-favourite, Diaz returned to the Octagon, after almost two years. His last fight was against Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244, back in November 2019.
However, he began where he had left – depicting his usual tough-as-nails attitude and bloodied face during the fight.
Following his loss, at the post-fight interview Diaz threw an open invitation to everyone for a house party, later that night.
In a recent report from popular website MMASalaries.com, Diaz is believed to have taken home at least $1.12 million in earnings, despite having lost to Edwards.
The split-up mentioned on the site read a base salary of $500,000, PPV Payout of $600,000 and sponsorships amounting to $21,000.
Leon Edwards’ salary nowhere close to Nate Diaz’s
Despite ending up the winner via. unanimous decision, Leon Edwards’ salary was nowhere close to what Nate Diaz got.
‘Rocky’ took home $191,000, which is almost 1/6th of what Diaz had earned. The split-up read a base salary of $90,000, which seemed to make all the difference, a win bonus of $90,000 and sponsorships amounting to $11,000.
Edwards too could enter or at least get close to the realm of Diaz, if he continues his dominance and eventually becomes the welterweight champion. He has now stitched up nine victories in a row, and has asserted his claim as a top-ranked welterweight.
