UFC superstar Nate Diaz has offered his two cents on the ongoing controversy between Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington that involved an altercation at a restaurant
The altercation between Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington is all over the news and has got the MMA world talking. It would be remiss to say that Nate Diaz wouldn’t have an opinion on this situation, given the bad-boy reputation he’s built over time.
One impression synonymous with the Diaz name would be the brawling adventures of the Diaz brothers. The Stockton slugger has had his fair share of encounters outside the octagon- from his infamous Nashville Strikeforce brawl inside the octagon to his latest encounter with AJ McKee and crew, Diaz isn’t afraid to throwdown.
Diaz has immense pride in the fact that win, lose or draw, he always puts on a show. And to his credit, no one has been able to break his will inside the octagon, even Josh Thompson when he scored that TKO victory against him.
The younger Diaz brother who earlier supported Masvidal for his actions, has since taken digs at the Miami fighter and suggested that he shouldn’t be losing fights. Nate Diaz whose record himself stands at 20-13 in MMA, is regarded as the last of the few in a dying breed of ‘kill or be killed’ fighters.
Reacting to the news Diaz said,
‘Ps u got ur ass whooped N or out the cage your in the big leagues now don’t ever lose
talk’
Jorge Masvidal facing felony charges for sucker punching Colby Covington and apparently breaking his teeth
Police documents have now emerged stating that Masvidal attacked Covington outside of Papi Steak restaurant on Monday night. An initial report of the scuffle was posted by Fox Sports Radio’s Andy Slater. Masvidal allegedly “ran up to him from his left, and without notice, punched him with a closed fist two times in the face,” the police report reads. One punch reportedly landed on Covington’s mouth and the other connected with his left eye.
As per the police report, Covington insinuated that Masvidal said, “You shouldn’t have been talking about my kids,”
It is reported that Masvidal was wearing a surgical mask, and hooded up in disguise to attack Colby. Masvidal has been charged with felony battery for his actions according to Miami beach police.
