Nate Diaz has actively begun searching an opponent for his next fight
Nate Diaz made an exciting return to the Octagon at the recently concluded UFC 263. He took on Leon Edwards in the first-ever five-round non-title fight in the history of the promotion.
He had previously fought Jorge Masvidal, back in November 2019, for the BMF title.
Having been dominated by Edwards for almost 24 minutes of the 25-minute fight, Diaz stepped on the gas in the last minute of the fight. ‘The Stockton Slugger’ caught Edwards with a ferocious left hook that sent him careening towards the cage.
Had there been an extra 30 seconds, Diaz would have won the fight. However, Edwards held on and was eventually saved by the bell.
Hardly two weeks after the fight, Diaz is already looking for his next opponent. He took to Twitter – posted a video of himself rocking Edwards in the last minute of the fight.
Diaz also captioned it:
“I been had his whole shit shook up. Who’s next?”
Who will Nate Diaz fight next?
Nate Diaz is still unranked in the welterweight division. However he never fails to put on a show against the opponents he is paired with.
With Diaz not disappointing in his last fight, the UFC would surely be okay in giving another top welterweight.
He was asked out by the ageing Demian Maia, but the West Coast Gangster hasn’t responded to his request.
Even a rematch against Jorge Masvidal might be possible. The last time they fought, Diaz had to withdraw from the fight due to a doctor stoppage.
Other possible options are Belal Muhammad, Michael Chiesa, Neil Magny and even a fight against the returning Khamzat Chimaev would make sense.
