Nate Diaz seemed set to fight Jorge Masvidal in a rematch next but could be eyeing someone else too
UFC star Nate Diaz sent social media into a spin after he posted a clip of Dan Hooker vs Gilbert Burns.
The American hasn’t fought since losing the BMF clash against Jorge Masvidal. However, there were suggestions that a fight between the pair would be up next.
Masvidal is coming off a loss to UFC Welterweight Champion Kamaru Usman, and that would be quite a rematch.
However, Diaz seems to have other plans after his post of Hooker vs Burns. While Burns is set to face Usman for the title, Hooker is looking for his next fight.

Taking a shot at Burns?
There were some suggestions that this was a hit out at Burns who lost the fight easily to Hooker in the Lightweight division.
Burns is to face Usman for the Welterweight title but Ariel Helwani suggested that Diaz was looking at fighting Hooker.
Nathan seems to be watching this fight a lot these days.
Call me crazy but my two cents are he’s moving on from Masvidal and eyeing Dan Hooker 👀 https://t.co/DZPRsb2P59

The ESPN journalist added that this wasn’t a shot at Burns but posting the video was Diaz’s take on studying winners.
Those saying he’s dissing Burns haven’t studied Diaz bros 101 throughout the years. They focus on winners. He’s highlighting a win. I feel like I have a PHD in this.

Hooker certainly looked great in that fight but the Kiwi lost the next clash after that. Hooker was beaten up Edson Barboza and then picked up three wins on the spin.
However, the 30-year-old lost his last fight, which was against Dustin Poirier. Diaz might have fought in the Welterweight division recently but the 35-year-old has also battled in the Lightweight division.
It will be interesting to see who Diaz faces next and that would be an amazing fight. Hooker wasn’t able to match Poirier in their battle in June and even a returning Diaz would be a tough opponent for him.
Diaz is one of the toughest UFC stars of all-time and his next fight would be a sell out, and many fans backed him to fight Hooker:
I agree, you vs Hooker sounds good.

Holy shit @danthehangman is huge. Much bigger than Gilbert. Would say he should move up, but than again, the top of the division is full of boring ass wrestlers. Still good good matches there, like Jorge. But LW is where its at.
