UFC superstar Nate Diaz was in a huff considering the media attention and company push their hottest new prospect Khamzat Chimaev has been receiving
Khamzat Chimaev was the star attraction at UFC 273 undeniably. From pre-fight media numbers, to the actual fight itself, Chimaev delivered on all cannons, and emerged as a true contender in the division. Although some believe that a part of his hype got deflated, others hailed him for his warrior spirit.
UFC President Dana White was ecstatic after the fight and went into raptures about the potential of Chimaev. He hailed him as one of the best prospects in recent times, and stated that he showed the world that he belongs in the top of the division.
White said during the post fight press-conference, ‘When’s the last time you saw a guy come out of nowhere… Fights a couple of fights, then fights the No.2 ranked guy in the world and wins…’
What made the victory even more special was that Chimaev was tested for the first time in his career, and he showed championship grit and mettle to overcome those adversities. Even when Burns managed to wobble him and dropped him with thudding shots, Chimaev maintained his composure and returned fire with fire.
Nate Diaz blasts Dana White for fueling the Khamzat Chimaev hype train
Before Burns signed the dotted line to fight Chimaev, Dana White had expressed his interest in booking a potential fight between Nate Diaz and the Chechen. It is informed to all by now that Diaz is waiting with bated breath to fight out the last fight in his contract and test the free agency waters.
Diaz had blasted the idea during an interview with TMZ Sports stating that Chimaev hasn’t fought a top contender yet, and he needs to work up the rank to deserve a fight against him.
The younger Diaz brother had famously called out Conor Mcgregor in a profanity laced post fight interview owing to the push and hype the Irish Man was receiving from the organization. The Stockton slugger notices the same pattern with the push that Chimaev has been receiving and this did not sit well with him.
He posted an Instagram story with the caption, ‘ Outta nowhere? He’s from ur nuts and ur skeeting. Him all over the media just like you did with Conor’s bitc**ss. Fu**both of them.’
