Tony Ferguson sends out cryptic message on social media following arrest in Los Angeles
Tony Ferguson, a former interim UFC lightweight champion, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence early Sunday morning in Los Angeles following a rollover accident, according to police.
At 1:45 a.m. in the Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles, according to FOX 11, police said Ferguson purportedly collided with two unoccupied vehicles. According to the police, nobody was hurt in the collision.
After allegedly refusing a field sobriety test, the 39-year-old faces a DUI charge and possibly other offences. A police spokeswoman told MMA Junkie that two other persons were in the overturned truck, but they were extricated without suffering serious injuries.
With concerns mounting over the well-being of Ferguson, the Mexican-American has finally sent out a cryptic message to his loyal fanbase via Instagram. He wrote:
“I Accept The Challenge” Time To Fight Again Crew🍃”
Daddy Needs To Deal Some Damage- Champ 🪄💨🍃-CSO- 🇺🇸🏆🇲🇽 # Making🥇Machines # Iron🕴️Man”
Sean O’Malley, the top-ranked bantamweight in the UFC, has commented on Tony Ferguson’s recent run-in with the law.
On May 7, just before 2 a.m. local time in Hollywood, Ferguson allegedly collided with two parked vehicles in front of a nightclub. DUI was the reason for Ferguson’s arrest and booking at the Hollywood Community Police Station. According to TMZ Sports, “El Cucuy” was uncooperative when police approached him, purportedly refused to take a field sobriety test, and “reeked of alcohol.”
Weighing in on the latest developments in a recent video on his YouTube channel, Sean O’Malley stated:
“That’s not good, that’s not good,” O’Malley said. “F***ing Tony, what are we doing here, bud? Anytime somebody’s drinking and driving you gotta maybe assume that things aren’t going good, you know what I mean?”
“You can kill somebody drinking and driving. You can kill somebody f***ing driving sober, let alone being buzzed. I can hardly walk straight when I’m buzzed, let alone get in the goddamn car. Although, driving my Lambo blacked out sounds fun sometimes, but I would never do it.”
