Ariel Helwani claims a new MMA league is coming in 2023

A new MMA League might be upon us by 2023, according to reports from renowned journalist Ariel Helwani

With the fighter pay issue being an ever-raging thing, talks of an organization with a more defined structure have always been lingering.

Of late, the fighter pay issue has gathered pace as well. And the complaints have been coming from all directions, notably YouTube star Jake Paul, who has used every single opportunity to voice out against the UFC.

More top-ranked fighters have also begun expressing their dismay at the same.

The latest development is that a new MMA league might be coming in 2023. This is according to a report from MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani.

Taking to Twitter Helwani gave a gist of what is to come. He also captioned his Tweet:

“Adding another nugget to tonight’s thoughts column on a new MMA league, that will be announced soon, and that is hoping to shake up the whole MMA industry.”

The proposed MMA League is expected to be more reformed and structures like the top sports leagues in America, namely, NBA, NFL and NHL.

The fighters are set to be covered by health insurance and career-ending insurance as well. Added to this, there will be pension and guaranteed contracts too.

A CBA with 50/50 revenue share is also in plan. Top industry individuals are in discussion to set up the league.

The announcement is said to be imminent in the coming days.
