MMA history recently posted a picture of Kamaru Usman succumbing to his only loss in MMA way back in 2013
Nick Diaz shocked everyone earlier this week when he claimed that he wants a crack at Kamaru Usman next. Diaz has been on a public hiatus after his loss to Robbie Lawler at UFC 266, but as per reports, has resumed full-time training. He is also making public appearances for meet and greet, while interacting with fans. He recently hosted a meet and greet session with his apparel brand, Represent LTD, at their headquarters, mobbed by fans. Nick also detailed some elaborate plans for his future in the UFC.
Nick spoke to a reporter of TMZ candidly and detailed his plans for the future.
“(We’re) working on end of the year. … I’m just focused on my training right now,” Diaz told TMZ. “If I’m going to fight, I want to fight for the title. … They want to say that I want to fight a bunch of guys and stuff like that. Well, you know what? It’s a bigger fight.
“Just skip all the mess. I don’t need to go in there and get my ass whooped by one of the young guys, anyway – and it’s not that I won’t win. It’s just not motivating to fight somebody that’s – I want to fight for the title. I’m 38 years old.”
Diaz is confident that he can beat Usman and concluded by saying, “I think I’ll beat him. … I would love it if they gave me a shot,” Diaz said. Fans are however happy to see their beloved fighter in good spirits, training hard again.
Both Diaz brothers have been severely critical of fighters getting submitted inside the octagon. MMA history today is a page that takes fans on a daily journey through the history of MMA. They recently posted a picture of Usman’s last and only loss as a professional, way back in 2013. Kamaru lost to Jose Caceres via submission.
Diaz reacted to the post with a squirrel emoji, mocking Usman for succumbing to a submission loss..
Nick Diaz was a busy man on Instagram earlier today- sharing pictures from his old training days, his triathlon coach, sparring videos, and more. He even shared a thread of photos from his meeting with Tyson Fury last year while in preparation for Robbie Lawler. Nick helped Fury understand some fundamentals of MMA, and the images broke the internet.
At this moment, Nick Diaz is looking for some inspiration and motivation to step inside the cage again. Having lost his fight against Robbie Lawler at UFC 266, Diaz alluded to anxiety, a switch in management, and not wanting to fight Lawler again as the reasons for a prosaic and colorless performance.
Tyson Fury has been talking about a potential hybrid match-up with Francis Ngannou, while other rumors suggest that he has retired from the sport of boxing. Regardless, he continues to grab headlines, and replied to the post by commenting, ‘”Nice bit of rolling around the mat.”
