Nick Diaz lost on his UFC return to Robbie Lawler
Nick Diaz faced Robbie Lawler upon his return to the UFC octagon after over six years. The fight was highly anticipated as any of the Diaz’s fight. Though Diaz was not able to get the job done upon his return fans loved to see him back in the octagon.
Following his loss Diaz had this to say:
“I’m glad, I at least put on a show. Had a lot of stress coming into this one especially having a long time off. And yeah i have no excuses I just had a long time off I don’t know how this fight got set up. I had a switch up in my whole management and setup. But no excuses you know he’s in great shape. I know I was leaking here so I didn’t want to make too much of a mess. I’m glad to be back”
The matched kicked off very aggressively but slowly lost the pace as Diaz looked to be tiring up. The match ended in a TKO victory to Lawler in the third round after a busted up Diaz crouched on the canvas. Diaz certainly showed that age had gotten to him. Although he has a tremendous heart to fight age always does it’s job.
Conor McGregor’s reaction to Nick Diaz and Robbie Lawler
Amongst many watching the return of the older Diaz was Conor McGregor. McGregor himself took to Twitter to share his opinions on the fight where he said:
“This is tremendous! Let’s go @UFC!”
