Nicolae Negumereanu earned a technical knockout victory in the very first round of UFC Vegas 41 although Twitter unanimously declared it to be via. illegal strikes
Nicolae Negumereanu of Romania started the UFC Vegas 41 card with a bang, knocking out Ike Villanueva of Texas within 80 seconds.
The fight saw both the men begin aggressively. However, Negumereanu shifted the action to the cage in no time.
Once the fight got back to the center of the Octagon, wild blows were traded by both the fighters, and, that was when one of Negumereanu’s big punches landed flush knocking Villanueva down.
Just seconds later the Romanian got the job done with hammer fists. However, there was a bit of tension after the fight, since it looked like Negumereanu had landed illegal blows to the back of Villanueva’s head.
However, the official confirmation laid all doubts to rest. A win for Negumereanu.
But the Twitterati tore into the Romanian. They unanimous called it cheating. Many wanted the result to be overturned as well, claiming that Negumereanu got away with it.
Twitterati bring up Kevin Holland following Nicolae Negumereanu’s controversial win
Just a couple of weeks ago, the fight between Kevin Holland vs Kyle Daukaus was declared a no-contest after an accidental clash of heads rendered Holland unconscious.
Daukaus had originally won the fight, but the result was overturned after a ton of checking by the officials.
