The Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Tony Ferguson fight at UFC 249 is in doubt due to the coronavirus and travel restrictions
Ali Abdelaziz, the agent of Khabib Nurmagomedov, has provided a positive update regarding the future of UFC 249.
The Lightweight clash between Khabib and Tony Ferguson is the main event of UFC 249. However, the future of the event is in doubt given the coronavirus pandemic.
The UFC hasn’t suspended the fight, unlike other ones, and Dana White has been adamant that 249 will go ahead.
That seems a little questionable given that Khabib is stuck in Russia while Ferguson is in America. Russia also has a ban in place and international travel would be a problem for the Lightweight champion.
Abdelaziz, however, posted an update on his Twitter account where he claimed that Dana White wasn’t giving up on the clash.
One thing I can tell you For everyone asking me about the fight Is no quitting in @danawhite he’s a fu::ing savage WOW

The UFC president has always maintained that the fight would go ahead, and even teased that he had a location confirmed.
White didn’t say where the fight was going to happen, but it will be interesting to see what takes place next.
18 April is a go?
UFC 249 takes place on 18 April and there is some concern about the rest of the fight card too. White would have a huge loss of face if the clash didn’t happen, and hopefully, the president can pull through in the end.
Holding it in the US seems a little risky, but most countries are battling the pandemic. Russia, the UAE and even China were reported as possible locations for UFC 249. However, that would mean a lot of travel for the America-based fighters.
UFC 249 can’t just have Khabib vs Ferguson and nothing else. However, it would be foolish to bet against White after all that he has done over the years.
