UFC 248 is just a few hours away and Dana White has been doing a tremendous job of pumping up the match card.
The UFC special sees Israel Adesanya defend his Middleweight belt against Yoel Romero. However, there is another co-main event.
Joanna Jedrzejczyk is challenging Zhang Weili for the Women’s Strawweight title. The Pole is trying to become the first woman to reclaim her title but Weili will make it tough.
White was asked about this fight by Brian Campbell, and the UFC president had a lot of good things to say about it:
“Everything about this fight is incredible. Two of the best women in the world, do not like each other, facing off in Las Vegas for the world title.
“This is one of the fights that I am most excited about this year.”
The Polish star might be 32 and a couple of years older that Weili, but White had a lot of praise for the veteran.
“I don’t think anybody counts Joanna Jedrzejczyk out. She’s nasty, well rounded. She comes to fight. She’s really good at keeping her distance and range. Putting pressure on fighters. It’s an unbelievable fight.
White reaffirmed that this fight would be one of the best of the year, and the rivalry between the fighters could take it to another level.
“I can’t articulate, to you the fans, how good this fight is. How good both these women are, and how bad they dislike each other.
“This is going to be one of the best fights of the year.”
Both women have badmouthed each other in the lead-up to the event, and it will be interesting to see how things go at UFC 248.
