Boxing legend Oscar De La Hoya and UFC President Dana White have been the worst of enemies
Things have never looked pleasant between boxing legend and promoter De La Hoya and UFC boss Dana White. Their rivalry was at its peak when De La Hoya urged everyone around the world to not watch Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather in 2017.
A year later White appeared on ESPN and criticized De La Hoya for promoting Chuck Liddell vs Tito Ortiz. The UFC veteran pair fought under De La Hoya’s Golden Boy Promotions in November 2018.
And now, things have taken another turn for the worse, after De La Hoya accused White of blocking a fight between himself and UFC legend Georges St-Pierre. White for his part, blasted De La Hoya at the UFC 262 post-fight press conference.
Earlier this week, GSP too felt quite disappointed that White had blocked his possible fight against De La Hoya.
Yesterday, De La Hoya took yet another jibe at the UFC boss.
He called him out for a real fight:
“@danawhite Quit blocking @GeorgesStPierre’s chance to fight. How about we get into the ring first little B*#ch then after I kick your ass, I’ll fight a real man #DeLaHoyaGSP #LetGSPFight“
What exactly was the Georges St-Pierre vs Oscar De La Hoya fight
Boxing great De La Hoya and UFC Welterweight legend were supposed to fight in a Boxing match under Triller Productions banner.
De La Hoya and Triller had promised St-Pierre his biggest payday ever. Before further negotiations could take place, Dana White blocked the move, putting the fight to bed.
Recently, GSP himself claimed that he was quite disappointed when White blocked the fight, as he was really excited to try his hand at a different sport.
