Oscar De La Hoya was back, firing shots at UFC President Dana White over fighter pay issue

MMA fighters put their life on the line when they step inside the cage. However, there is always a raging issue about them being paid only a meagre amount of money.

The debate has been very much prevalent in the UFC of late. Time and again it keeps cropping up. But, in recent times the issue has been all over the place.

With the ignition coming in the form of notable people like Oscar De La Hoya and YouTuber Jake Paul, the pressure has been on UFC boss Dana White.

More recently UFC 266 saw some stellar performances from several fighters, notably the main event featuring Alexander Volkanovski and Brian Ortega.

The fight went the distance and saw both the fighters, especially Ortega, get bruised badly.

Oscar De La Hoya rips into Dana White

De La Hoya who never misses an opportunity to slam his rival White, saw this as a chance to further rip into him.

He pointed out that Volkanovski hardly made 1/20th of White’s net worth while putting his life on the line before going on to urge the boss to pay the fighters what they deserved.

De La Hoya’s Tweet read:

“Hey @alexvolkanovski you just won a brutal battle for @ufc and made 1/20 of what you’re worth. @danawhite have some fucking respect for yourself and these fighters and pay these warriors what they deserve.”

De La Hoya was recently scheduled to fight Vitor Belfort, but was forced to pull out after being hospitalized due to coronavirus.
