Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett made an impressive start to his UFC career

At UFC Fight Night: Brunson vs Till, Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett made his much anticipated UFC debut. The Scouser was coming after a successful stint at Cage Warriors Fighting Championship – he was the featherweight champion there.

He made his debut in the main card. After suffering an early knockout against his opponent, Luigi Vendramini, Pimblett bounced back in a couple of minutes and knocked the Brazilian out in the same round with a flurry of strikes.

The hype is real, echoed around the UFC’s Apex facility. Many believe Pimblett will follow in the footsteps of Conor McGregor. The Irishman was a former Cage Warriors Fighting Champion too.

Besides fighting, Pimblett is a massive fan of the Liverpool football club. In a recent interview with BBC featuring Jermaine Jenas and others, Pimblett revealed that ‘one overrated’ footballer he would like to fight.

As expected, Pimblett named a footballer from Liverpool’s bitter rivals Manchester United – Bruno Fernandes. He went on to say that there were no world-class players in Manchester United, except Cristiano Ronaldo.

Pimblett was quoted as saying:

“I’d probably pick one from each team. But I reckon just because he’s so overrated, Bruno Fernandes. No, he’s not world-class. I don’t think anyone in that United team is world-class apart from Ronaldo.”

Pimblett also went on to state that Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba was overrated as well.

Reece Parkinson, the host, was quick to call Paddy Pimblett, Graeme Souness, since the Liverpool footballing legend is known for handing Pogba stick, week in and week out.
