Paul Felder didn’t hold back when speaking about the way Conor McGregor conducted himself at UFC 264
UFC 264 trilogy fight between Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier 3 came to an unexpected ending.
The Irishman’s left ankle snapped at the end of the first round, causing the fight to be awarded to Poirier via. TKO due to doctor stoppage.
There was many a word exchanged during the pre-fight presser. McGregor took it too personal, as he kept dragging Poirier’s wife Jolie into the conversation.
Following the defeat, at the post-fight interview, he kept uttering nasty derogatory comments aimed at Poirier and Jolie. He even threatened to kill Poirier.
McGregor’s comments were condemned by a legion of fans and superstars from the MMA community. At the UFC 264 recap show, former UFC fighter Paul Felder addressed the same.
Speaking to UFC star Michael Chiesa, Felder ripped apart McGregor for his comments on Poirier at the post-fight interview.
Felder said:
“You’re on the ground with your leg broken in half at the bottom, threatening to kill somebody, to a man who has just dominated you twice in a row now. He could walk up and soccer kick you in the mouth and knock all your teeth out and leave you for dead, on that canvas. You’re the one who was in the position to get killed, Conor, in that spot. Show some humility.”
Michael Bisping says Conor McGregor should fire his coach John Kavanagh
Following McGregor’s loss, John Kavanagh, The Irishman’s coach, broke down how things panned out that night in an interview with Laura Sanko.
He made an outrageous claim that McGregor would have knocked out Poirier in the second round, had he not been injured.
His comments didn’t sit well with UFC Hall of Famer, Michael Bisping. At the fight recap show on BT Sport, Bisping blasted Kavanagh for his comments, and advised McGregor to part ways with him:
“Coach Kavanagh said, ‘Oh! I saw nothing that concerned me. I knew that in the second round we will get the knockout. Nothing I’ve seen there concerned me at all.’ If that’s true John Kavanagh, Conor should fire you immediately, because that was very concerning, you were on your back and you were getting dominated. And, it was a 10-8 round, that’s concerning. You don’t want to get your ass kicked, simple as that and that’s what was happening.”
