Does Paulo Costa want to be cut by UFC?
The drama surrounding Paulo Costa and his clash with Marvin Vettori this weekend does not seem to be ending at all. Ali Abdelaziz has recently claimed that Costa is looking to get cut by the UFC after his recent actions. Take a look at what he had to say:
“I wasn’t gonna say nothing but he is making fun of weight cut. He is doing everything to make ufc to cut him and cancel the fight. But this is not gonna happen”

It can be said that Abdelaziz is not pleased by Costa and his weight cut issues in the fight week. Earlier the fight was supposed to take place at middleweight (185lbs) but as the Brazilian was overweight by 27lbs, both Cost and Vettori agreed to fight at catchweight (195lbs) and this looked to be done deal.
However, Costa’s inability of sticking to his weight cut schedule has brought yet another change in the fight. The fight has now been officially moved to light heavyweight. Which means both fighters will hit the scale at 205lbs.
Will UFC actually cut Paulo Costa?
The lack of discipline is what makes Abdelaziz feel like Costa is looking for UFC to cut him off from his contract. However, it is very unlikely that it happens. Costa has also been fined 20% of his fight purse for the same.
The terrible act of professionalism has most certainly brought out the best from Vettori who is doing his all to make the fight happen by changing through two weight classes.
