Marvin Vettori has lashed out at Paulo Costa over his weight cut issues
UFC fighter Marvin Vettori has sent out a explicit message to his opponent in the upcoming UFC Vegas 41 Paulo Costa over his weight cut issues. The fight has been built up with drama from the past few days because of Costa who was overweight.
Costa was not on track with his weight cut schedule and the fight had to be moved up from middleweight i.e. 185lbs to catchweight i.e. 195lbs. Vettori took to Twitter to lash out at the Brazilian and said:
“Fu*k you pu**y 195 contract is signed. See you Saturday bitch @BorrachinhaMMA”
Vettori has stepped up to the plate by accepting a fight at a heavier weight class which can prove to be a lot more dangerous. Costa was 27lbs overweight just days before the fight and would have not made it to the scales. The fighters verbally agreed to fight at catchweight and UFC later made the fight official.
Will Paulo Costa get fined for weight change?
Recent reports have revealed that Costa will indeed face a fine for missing weight. It has been reported that the Brazilian will be fined 20% of his fight purse which will directly be given to Vettori.
The UFC has rules which impose a fighter to be fined if he/she misses weight and Costa fell under the same this time around. He was originally supposed to weigh in at 185lbs for the fight, however, he will now weigh in at 195lbs as per his new fight agreement and inability of cutting weight on time.
