Chris Daukaus is in action in the latest UFC event against Rodrigo Nascimento
UFC Fight Night sees Chris Daukaus take on undefeated star Rodrigo Nascimento on the prelim card.
Daukaus comes into this fight as the underdog despite having one win more than the undefeated Nascimento.
The American also is on a two-fight win streak and won his UFC debut clash against Parker Porter. That took place on the historic Stipe Miocic vs Daniel Cormier UFC 252 card, and Daukaus was speaking about his next fight.
The 31-year-old was ready to get another fight in the span of a few months, and was aiming to pick up another win.
Daukaus added that there wasn’t time to think much in the UFC and was already thinking of picking up another win after this outing.
However, the 31-year-old opened up on what all he misses in his MMA career.
Daukaus, like all MMA stars, has to go through some tough training camps to get into shape. This leads to the missing out on several incredible moments, but that is the price to pay while chasing dreams.
Daukaus added that getting another win would mean all his hard work over 10 years came to fruition but he also brought up all that he missed while getting here
“This time away from the family, it sucks. I face-time them every night I miss them. There are sacrifices and all but when you get that win it makes it worth it.
“The paycheck’s great but you know you are putting in sacrifices, you are missing certain holidays, missing birthday parties or regular parties with your family that you can’t go to because of work.”
The 31-year-old added that he wanted to get a quick win and not waste time in the Octagon against Nascimento. Daukaus’ Brazilian rival is 8-0 while he has an MMA record of nine wins and three losses.
This would also be Nascimento’s second UFC fight, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top in this.
