Khabib Nurmagomedov was all eyes on the fiery clash between Cory Sandhagen and TJ Dillashaw
Cory Sandhagen and TJ Dillashaw put on a fight for the ages in the main event of UFC Vegas 32. Dillashaw who returned to the Octagon after more than two years (due to a drug ban), showed the world why he was a former two-time bantamweight champion.
With nothing to separate between the two after the fight, the judges had to pick a side, and went with the veteran, Dillashaw, as he earned a narrow split-decision victory.
Although, the decision to hand Dillashaw the win was largely frowned upon by the MMA community, it is tough to say that the veteran didn’t deserve it.
Following his win, Dillashaw called out Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling for a title shot right away. Yan and Sterling are set to clash sometime soon in a title match.
Petr Yan ready to fight TJ Dillashaw in 2022 as Khabib Nurmagomedov brings up the same
Khabib Nurmagomedov, who was closely watching the fight, had his tweets pop up several times during the course of the fight.
After Dillashaw’s win, ‘The Eagle’ let the world know that he would like to see fellow Russian Petr Yan take on TJ Dillashaw in Russia.
Khabib wrote:
“Yan vs TJ. 2022 in Russia.”
Yan then replied acknowledging the same. The former bantamweight champion expressed his desire to fight at the Gazprom Arena – Zenit Saint Petersburg FC’s home ground.
Yan’s reply read:
“68000 Gazprom Arena, Saint Petersburg.”
Yan vs Sterling doesn’t have a date yet, but the fight is expected to take place sometime this year.
