Bryce Mitchell is expected to be out for a while after undergoing hand surgery

Bryce ‘Thug Nasty’ Mitchell is still riding high on another great UFC performance from a couple of weeks back.

The 26-year-old defeated Andre Fili for his 14th straight MMA win and he is undefeated in his career. Mitchell also provided a couple of talking points before and after the fight. One was the introduction of his camo shorts, a first in the UFC after Reebok’s sponsorship.

The second one was him speaking up on not wanting to wear masks outside and how people shouldn’t be forced to despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Nevertheless, there was some bad news for Mitchell as the American confirmed he picked up an injury. Mitchell is expected to be out for a while after breaking his hand during the Fili fight, but the American provided an update on the same.

Thug Nasty posted a picture of his hand wrapped up in bandage and claimed that the surgery went off well. Mitchell will be resting up now as his hand heals, but he is someone to keep an eye on.

Rising up the ranks

While Mitchell is set to be out of action for a while, he has been going great guns in the UFC. The 26-year-old is ranked #14 in the Featherweight rankings and is climbing up the board.

A few more wins should ensure that he gets a title shot, and it will be interesting to see who he faces next.

Fili was probably the biggest name that Mitchell has faced in his short UFC career, and he won that via a unanimous decision.

Thug Nasty has at least a decade of fighting left in him, and he will only improve with more fights under his belt.
