Conor McGregor is getting back to his best in training after his stunning loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 257
MMA legend Conor McGregor might have lost to Dustin Poirier a few weeks back at UFC 257 but the Irishman is back training at his best.
McGregor was humbled by Poirier and was knocked out in the main event of UFC 257. However, that loss seems to have lit a fire in the Irishman.
He challenged Poirier for a third clash and the Diamond seems open to this fight. Dana White is also keen on this and it could be for the UFC Lightweight title too.
However, McGregor has also suggested that he was done being a ‘nice guy’ and went back to his roots. He has been training hard since the loss and posted another update on Instagram. This time, it was his quads that was the focus of attention.
Poirier used a lot of kicks to harm McGregor’s calves and the Irishman seems to have learned from it. This update was more about his coffee and quads, and in one of the comments, he added that this was the first time he ran 10KM since the loss to Poirier.
Conor McGregor almost certain to fight Dustin Poirier in a trilogy
McGregor doesn’t seem to be wasting time in getting into shape and plans to have that third Poirier fight soon.
White suggested that this fight could take place in the summer and that would be a blockbuster event. McGregor is a big draw for the UFC and any fight featuring him is a huge pay day for the promotion.
Poirier, for his part, has been calling himself the uncrowned champion and is keen on winning the title too.
Khabib Nurmagomedov is still the champion at the moment, but it seems he will have to relinquish the title sooner or later.
The Russian has been calling Poirier as the champion too, and it is to be seen if The Diamond can get the belt for good this time.
