Dan Hooker picked up several injuries in the loss against Dustin Poirier last week

New Zealand UFC star Dan Hooker certainly got his face punched up a lot against Dustin Poirier last week.

The Hangman couldn’t get the win but he did impress by lasting five rounds against Poirier. Hooker also showed off a lot of his facial injuries in recent interviews and on his social media pages.

He was plucking out some stitches from his eyelids yesterday and used a pair of toenail clippers for that.

The Kiwi is under quarantine since he returned from the US, and has miraculously healed up too within a week.

Hooker shared his before and after photos from the fight against Poirier. The eyelid was cut up really well during the clash, and in one of the pictures the stitches could be seen too.

However, Hooker seems to have some special healing powers and he claimed he was as good as new.

Ready for another fight

Hooker might have lost the clash but he got the better of Poirier in the first two rounds. The Kiwi has spoken about challenging for the Lightweight title but this loss would have hurt those chances.

Further, the division is packed with several quality talents with Justin Gaethje as the interim champion and Khabib Nurmagomedov as the champion.

Those two will meet soon to find out the undisputed champion, and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

Hooker, for his part, spoke about fighting against later this year. He certainly is one of the big names in the Lightweight division and the UFC could make some interesting match-ups too.

However, the first order of business would be the Gaethje vs Khabib fight. That fight might be held a little later than expected after Khabib’s father, Abdulmanap, passed away recently.
