UFC plans big March with two huge fights including Stipe Miocic’s title defence

Stipe Miocic isn’t the only champion who is planned to be in action in the second UFC PPV of March

The UFC already has some big matches planned for this year with Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier kicking off UFC 257.

This could be for a shot at the UFC Lightweight title but more is being planned this year. Israel Adesanya vs Jan Blachowicz is another huge battle which takes place for the Light Heavyweight title.

However, the heavyweight champion, Stipe Miocic is also being primed for action later this year.

Ariel Helwani posted details of what the UFC is planning to do for the second PPV of march. While details are still being confirmed, the plan is to see Miocic take on Francis Ngannou for the title. This would be their second meeting after Miocic got the better of his rival a few years back.

Miocic was excellent in his previous clash against Daniel Cormier. The champion kept his crown and also finished his rivalry with the now retired Cormier.

Ngannou is a different beast when compared to the first match but there is another title fight that the UFC is working on.

Volkanovski to defend the crown

Alexander Volkanovski, the Featherweight Champion, is also expected to defend his title at the show.

He is coming off two tough matches against Max Holloway and takes on Brian Ortega.

Ortega last beat Chan Sung Jung, the Korean Zombie, in an epic match. The 29-year-old has 15 wins, one no contest and just one loss against his name.

Volkanovski has been brilliant too since coming to the UFC and it will be interesting to see how this fight goes.

However, Helwani was quick to add that the fights haven’t been confirmed yet and the UFC was planning to make these huge clashes soon.
