UFC welterweight fighters Nate Diaz and Gilbert Burns have reignited their long-standing feud, this time with a back and forth banter on Twitter

UFC 273 featured a ‘Fight of the year’ worthy contest between Gilbert Burns and Khamzat Chimaev. Although Burns lost the fight, his stocks have soared, and this has put him in a comfortable position for calling some shots. Nate Diaz and Burns have gone back and forth on Twitter several times in the past, and it was inevitable that Burns would throw his name in the hat to fight a superstar like Diaz.

Gilbert Burns took a shot at Nate Diaz

He stirred the pot again, this time by poking digs at Nicholas Maximov, Nate Diaz’s teammate who will be fighting this weekend. Gilbert aimed at the young fighter from the Nick Diaz Academy by using the famous TMZ interview, where it appeared like Maximov was caught like a deer in the headlights when Nate suggested his name to fight Khamzat Chimaev. He wrote,‘ This guy was shitting his pants at this moment now he is trying to be a gangster 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️ 🤣🤣🤣’

Diaz replied by reminding Burns of his knockout loss to Dan Hooker, and said that his last fight was whack. ‘

‘Shut up bit.h go to sleep 💤
And your last fight sucked
2 pumped up amatures’

Gilbert replied nudged Diaz’s memory to his brutal losses to his teammates, and said that they can beat him anywhere. He said,‘ My Team @MmaSanford beat the shi. out of your team any day of the week! Mma, Bjj, kickboxing, boxing! You name it @NateDiaz209’

UFC president Dana White sent in some fresh gear to the Stockton fighter, and Diaz expressed that he was not a fan of it. He said,’ And here’s for bitcha.s venum ufc gear 2′
