Rachael Ostovich stays positive after being latest victim of UFC roster cuts

The UFC found another member as part of its roster cuts with Rachael Ostovich being released

Rachael Ostovich, one of the most popular Flyweights in the UFC became the latest victim of the UFC roster cuts.

The 29-year-old was coming off a loss against Gina Mazany at UFC: Smith vs Clark. MMA Junkie reported the news first and this didn’t actually come as a major shock to many.

Dana White had confirmed that many stars, up to 60, would be part of the roster cuts from the UFC. Ostovich might have been popular among the fans but her performances were not that great.

She was one name that was predicted to leave the UFC and after losing three fights in a row, her place on the roster was always in doubt.

The 29-year-old has fought hard in her career, especially the domestic abuse case, and has always stayed positive.

She also reacted in the same manner after learning of the release and claimed this was a new beginning.

The former UFC star also posted several updates on Instagram and seemed positive despite the news of her release.

Good publicity

Ostovich also touched upon the 60 cuts that were being made by the UFC and claimed she was the one making the news.

The 29-year-old also was thankful for all the support given to her and even this bad publicity was actually good in a way.

It will be interesting to see where Ostovich can end up next. There are many MMA promotions across the world but signing talents during these Covid-19 times isn’t easy.

That could be one reason why White decided to make so many cuts. The UFC roster was bloated and many stars were just not performing any more.

Further, White had also offered contracts to several rising stars from his Contender Series show, and many of them have been impressive since making their UFC debut.
