Robert Whittaker and Israel Adesanya will soon face off in a rematch
On the 6th of October, 2019, Israel Adesanya stunned the world by knocking Robert Whittaker out cold.
‘The Last Stylebender’ thereby won the middleweight title and has since held on to the belt since then – a total of 3 successful title defenses.
Plus, he has never been defeated in the middleweight division as well.
Following his third successful title defense at UFC 263, against Marvin Vettori, Adesanya called out Whittaker for a rematch.
‘Bobby Knuckles’ agreed to a rematch in the immediate aftermath. January 2022 was set to be the tentative timeline for the fight.
A couple of weeks ago it was reported that the UFC were targeting the rematch for UFC 271, on the 12th of February, 2022.
It now looks like Whittaker has confirmed the same. Taking to social media, ‘The Reaper’ wrote:
“11 weeks #AndNew.”
Robert Whittaker is on a three-fight winning streak

Whittaker’s last win was against Kelvin Gastelum in April 2021.
