Ron DeSantis handed BMF title by Jorge Masvidal during latest event

Ron DeSantis is running for re-election and Jorge Masvidal was there to support the Florida governor

Jorge Masvidal doesn’t seem to be done with his political connections and was there to support Florida governor Ron DeSantis during a recent event.

Gamebred was present to share his BMF belt with the governor. DeSantis is running for re-election and James Koutoulas, a hedge fund manager, shared an image from the event.

This isn’t the first time Masvidal has openly shared his support for a politician. Gamebred toured alongside Donald Trump Jr in 2020 in Florida. This was a tour against socialism. He supported Donald Trump during the 2020 elections as well, but it didn’t work out for the former USA president.

Jorge Masvidal looking to get back to winning ways

Masvidal was once the hottest property in MMA after defeating Nate Diaz to win the BMF title in November 2019.

He got a shot at Kamaru Usman, twice, for the UFC Welterweight title. However, Gamebred lost both fights. The second one was a horrible outing as he was knocked out in the second round.

Masvidal and Colby Covington then ignited their rivalry and met at UFC 272. It was Chaos who got the win and handed Gamebred his third loss in the spin.

However, Masvidal attacked Covington outside a restaurant on March 22, 2022. The UFC star was detained by the police and was later released.

It is to be seen what happens next with Masvidal since he is scheduled for arraignment on 21 April, 2022.

A prison sentence would really be a blow to Gamebred since he would be thinking of his next fight. However, if he escapes any prison time, the UFC might be keen on rebooking Masvidal vs Covington given the rival they have developed now.
