UFC was expected to host a Fight Night in London but that seems to be out of the window for now.
Leon Edwards was expected to take on Tyron Woodley this weekend, but Ariel Helwani confirmed that the event is off.
Edwards also posted a long message about wanting to fight Woodley but revealed that he would only do so when it is safe.
That leaves a huge gap in the UFC fight card, and Dana White has been adamant that fights will go on.
Woodley recently got news about this situation and openly wants to fight Colby Covington. The former interim Welterweight Champion openly called out Woodley for a fight next week.
The rivalry continued between the pair as Woodley responded to a post from Helwani and claimed that it was Covington that didn’t want to fight him.
However, Covington now seems ready to face Woodley and posted a typical response ahead of the possible fight:
A Covington vs Woodley fight would not be a bad move given the lack of time. Both fighters would need to prepare quickly and change their plans too, but UFC might not have other options for Woodley.
Rafael dos Anjos was another name being linked with the fight and said he would be ready by the weekend.
The coronavirus scare has affected travel across the US and it will be interesting to see how things take place this weekend.
UFC Brasilia went off without a hitch but didn’t have fans in the arena. White has confirmed that all fights will go ahead as planned, but there are several restrictions in place at the moment.
Travel bans between countries are already set while large gatherings have also been banned in most cities.
